As a company that sources materials directly from the earth, we are deeply committed to preserving and protecting it in return. From the careful selection of natural stone to the responsible production of our tiles, we aim to minimize our environmental footprint through conscious choices at every stage. This includes integrating recycled content into our products, utilizing energy-efficient manufacturing processes, and sourcing materials locally to reduce emissions. At Nasco Stone + Tile, sustainability is built into the foundation of what we do. The majority of our products are crafted with recycled content, reflecting our commitment to minimizing environmental impact. Many of our collections also carry additional sustainability certifications and documentation — such as LEED, EPD, and HPD — helping meet evolving project standards. Because certifications vary by collection, we encourage you to contact your Nasco sales representative for detailed sustainability information.

Our Process

Our closed-loop water systems allow for 100% reuse of water in the manufacturing of many of our collections. This process conserves one of our planet’s most precious and limited resources while maintaining high production standards.

We repurpose or recycle 99.9% of the waste generated during our production processes, ensuring minimal impact on the environment. This near-zero-waste approach supports a circular economy, where materials are continually reused rather than discarded.

By transforming production by-products into usable resources, we dramatically reduce landfill contributions and promote long-term sustainability.

03 Clean Energy

Energy efficiency plays a key role in our manufacturing practices. We recover and reuse heat generated during tile production as an energy source and power our facilities with 100% natural gas — a cleaner alternative to conventional fuels.

These efforts significantly reduce our carbon footprint and align with our vision for a greener future.

04 Procurement

We approach natural stone extraction with a regenerative mindset that prioritizes ecological balance. This includes the preservation of local biodiversity, strict control of water quality, and consistent efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions throughout the process.

Our goal is to restore and maintain the integrity of the land while sourcing high-quality materials.

05 Recycling

Many of our tile collections incorporate
pre- and post-consumer recycled materials without compromising quality or aesthetics.

By giving new life to existing resources, we reduce demand for virgin materials and support sustainable design.
